The NHL is officially on break now for the 2026 Winter Olympics. I thought it would be a good time to debut my adjusted scoring rankings for the NHL. It is similar to the nhl and NFL version of adjusted scoring. The offense rating is how well a team scores against its opponents based on their opponents’ average goals allowed. The defense rating is how well a team can hold its opponents below that teams average goals scored.
It’s a clean sweep for Colorado. They are my #1 ranked team. They are also my #1 rated offense and defense. Tampa Bay sweeps the #2 rankings for all three categories. Carolina is #3 in power, #4 in offense and #7 in defense. The only other team that is my top 10 for power, offense and defense is Minnesota. They come in at #7 in power, #10 in offense, and #8 in defense.
