We’re finally down to the conference finals. The Western Conference finals was almost a foregone conclusion with the Thunder and Spurs. They’ve been the two best teams in the league for most of the year. I’m expecting this one to go the full seven games. The Spurs have been a thorn in the side of the Thunder this year. I think it comes down to officiating. If the Thunder get the calls they normally get, they’ll win. If not, the Spurs will win.
I’m sure you were thinking, as I was, that the Eastern Conference finals would be a matchup between the Celtics and Pistons at the beginning of the playoffs. Well that didn’t happen. The Celtics got knocked out in the first round. The Pistons struggled in the first round before finally advancing and then couldn’t figure out how to win at home against the Cavaliers and lost that series 4 games to 3. So, instead, we are looking at a Eastern Conference finals between the Knicks and the Cavaliers. The Knicks have been rolling in the playoffs, and the Cavs have been playing well, but the Knicks are the better team. I’m expecting the Knicks to win this series in six games.
