Playoffs are almost set. The final wildcard spots are still open. Whoopee! Nothing more exciting than a race for that last wildcard spot! Baseball needs some realignment and change to the leagues. I’ll give my opinions on that at a later time.

Hitting

The Yankees will finish the year as the best offense. The Mets and Dodgers are battling for second.

Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani have been the two best hitters in baseball for the past couple of years. Mike Trout has finally had a mostly healthy season and it looks like he is no longer an elite offensive player. He’s currently ranked #66. With his health issues the last few years, it took him 3 seasons to reach 400 home runs. Crazy to think he may never reach 500 home runs.

Pitching

The Brewers have ascended to the top pitching staff for the first time this season. It’s been a battle between Texas and San Diego for the last month, but the Brewers have been pitching great in September, just in time for the playoffs.

Surprisingly, Paul Skenes has fallen from the top 3. Yoshinaobu Yamamoto has overtaken him for the #3 spot while Nathan Eovaldi and Tarik Skubal are in a dead heat for the #1 ranking.
